These teaser shots are of a newly completed ink and gouache painting, “Flinch,” is about the practice of trepanning where holes are drilled into a living person’s skull to relieve pressure beneath the surface. Some people report a feeling of euphoria and it has even been used as a way to get high. This painting is part of a series called “Laid Bare” which explores vulnerability as a source of strength and empowerment.
